Should a parent attend the lesson?

Yes! It is important for the child to have the security of a familiar adult/caregiver in an unfamiliar situation. For the parent, it is exciting to watch your child learn to swim, and observation will help you practice with your child once the session is completed.

It is helpful but not required to have the student brought to the class by the same person each day.

Does a parent get into the water?

What if my child cries or say

they don’t want to swim?

It's quite common for young children to feel apprehensive when faced with new experiences. However, as they start to feel more comfortable and confident, most will stop shedding tears after just 2 to 4 days of lessons.

We believe that one session is all it takes for most children to reach their full potential for the year. We've found that our students don't require multiple sessions because they leave our program with a sense of confidence and competence that motivates them to continue practicing outside of formal lessons.

But it's not just about mastering the skills in one specific pool or setting. It's crucial that each swimmer is able to transfer their skills to different environments, as their safety depends on being able to swim regardless of the circumstances.

With consistent practice, your child will be able to build upon what they've learned and maintain their proficiency without the need for additional lessons. And if, for any reason, extra lessons are necessary, Mike will be sure to communicate that with you.

How many sessions will my child need?

You know what swimming looks like? It's when your kid can confidently glide through the water, make it to the wall or steps without swallowing half the pool, and haul themselves out of the water like a pro.

Our instructor, Mike, knows that every swimmer has their own unique talents and abilities. So don't go comparing your kid to others - they'll develop skills at their own pace, thank you very much.

And listen up, parents: it's not just about how many days your kid shows up or how long they stay in the water. It's about the quality of instruction and how often they practice. So get ready to bring your A-game and commit to frequent practice - that's the secret sauce to swimming success.

Can my child swim in 10 days?

Swimming can be tough for some kids to learn. They gotta get past both physical and mental obstacles in a new place. But don't worry, our special way of teaching works great because Mike is really good at figuring out what's holding kids back and helping them overcome it fast.

By keeping the lessons consistent and giving lots of encouragement, along with figuring out what motivates each kid, Mike helps them build the confidence they need to swim like a fish for life. It's a super way to make sure your kiddo is feeling confident and happy in the water in no time.

Why does our method work best?

You won't find a teaching style quite like Mike's anywhere else. Here are just a few things that set us apart from the rest:

  • Mike doesn't believe in yelling or screaming to motivate kids. There are much better ways to motivate kids.

  • No props allowed! Goggles? Floaties? Nah, we don't need 'em. Mike's all about building real, sustainable skills.

  • We don't want your kid to be stuck in lessons for the whole summer. Our program focuses on teaching real, lifelong skills that can be used anywhere.

  • Mike doesn't believe in pushing kids beyond skills they're not ready for. Step by step is the way to go!

  • Mike's always in control of the class and gives every student his full attention. No distractions allowed!
